Coronavirus Update
COVID-19 UPDATE
April 11, 2022 - Sorry folks. We need to MASK UP again! The Department of Public Health announced today that Philadelphia will reinstate the indoor mask mandate effective Monday, April 18th due to rising Covid-19 cases. Masks will be required i all indoor public spaces, including schools, child care centers, businesses, restaurants and government buildings.
March 2, 2022 - ALL CLEAR!! Philadelphia’s Health Department has lifted the indoor mask requirement. We are in support of this decision. However, please understand that there may be immunocompromised guests or individuals who are not able to be vaccinated yet. Masking will now be a personal choice for couples and guests at the chapel. We ask that if guests are unvaccinated or immunocompromised, they should continue to mask. Businesses have the authority to execute their own masking requirements. At this time we will follow the city’s lead. However, we reserve the right to re-evaluate this decision should circumstances changes of if there is a new surge or variant.
January 1, 2022 - With the current status of Omicron, masks are REQUIRED to be worn in our venue for everyone the entire time indoors. The couple must wear a mask until the ceremony begins then it can be removed. At this time vaccination cards are not required to be shown but we reserve the right to change this policy if the circumstances and/or conditions worsen or if city or state mandates change.
December 10, 2021 - December 31, 2021 is the LAST day to have your ceremony that was originally scheduled in 2020 or 2021 that was cancelled or postponed due to Covid and have your booking fee applied. We waived our normal 60 day rescheduling policy due to the pandemic but that ends 12/31! If you do not get married by December 31st, all monies paid will be forfeited and a new reservation with a new booking fee will be required.
June 11. 2021 - PA is OPEN! All capacity restrictions have been lifted. All of our packages are available. Masks are still required.
May 11, 2021 - Effective May 21, 2021, indoor venues will be allowed 50% of their capacity with a maximum of 150 people. Outdoor venues may have 75% of their capacity. Indoor catered events — which the city considers the "riskiest" won't budge from the 25% occupancy with a cap of 150 persons, including staff, if there is dancing and alcohol being served. Up to 250 people will be allowed as long as there is no music, dancing or alcohol. We will continue to follow all local, state, federal and CDC guidelines and recommendations to prevent the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus). As of May 21st our Kiss & Go, ELOPE!, Vegas Style, A Few Friends and Just Us packages will be available. 20 guests will be the absolute maximum allowed at this time to adhere to the current indoor restrictions. Face coverings are required.

Currently the “Safer At Home” restrictions are currently scheduled to remain in effect until January 1, 2020. The Mayor announced today that all indoor gatherings and events involving people from more than one household are prohibited, in public or private spaces beginning Friday, November 20th. September 1, 2020 - The Philadelphia Wedding Chapel is following all local, state, federal and CDC guidelines and recommendations to prevent the spread of Covid-19 (Coronavirus). Currently the social distancing guidelines are currently scheduled to remain in effect indefinitely. While businesses have re-opened, it will not be “business as usual” for a long while. Therefore, we are required to modify our ceremony offerings during this time to keep everyone safe. Due to capacity limitations the state has put in place for business we are not permitted to allow more than 10 guests. This will remain in effect until further notice. Our packages for 20, 30, 40 and 50 guests and those packages with a cake and champagne toast will be discontinued indefinitely as we are required to limit the amount of time and the number of people indoors. If you have one of these packages scheduled, please contact us immediately to reschedule or to discuss other options. We apologize for this disappointment and inconvenience but the safety of our couples, their guests and our staff is of the utmost importance to us and as there are still active cases being diagnosed everyday and asymptomatic transmission with no treatment or vaccine available.
Moving forward, our staff will be vigilant about asking any person(s) who appears to be symptomatic, to please exit the premises immediately. We further ask that you help us by informing your guests if they are not feeling well to please stay at home. Members of our vulnerable population should also be asked to stay home and tune in virtually. For your safety and ours, if you have a reservation but you or any of your guests are experiencing any symptoms such as fever, coughing or other respiratory symptoms or have traveled to any State which is now considered a “hot spot”, please call to reschedule your reservation as soon as possible. If your ceremony has been affected by Covid-19, we have relaxed our rescheduling policies and will allow you to reschedule your reservation anytime between now and 2021 without penalty. Of course rescheduling will be based on availability, but we will try our best to find a new date that works for you. We will also provide wi-fi access so the ceremony can be streamed live or shared on your personal social media accounts. We are also now offering virtual access using ZOOM for guests to view the ceremony virtually who cannot attend in person.
All guests are REQUIRED to wear a face covering/mask at all times while inside the premises
Our normally scheduled monthly Open Houses are suspended until further notice.
We apologize for any inconvenience, but we want to ensure the safest environment for you, your guests and our staff. We are eager to re-open and celebrate this time with you but we must be careful and responsible in doing so. We will continue to closely monitor the situation and adhere to the recommendations of the CDC, state and local health officials and make any adjustments if necessary and send notifications of any such changes promptly.
Thank you for your understanding. We are available for any questions.
